Health and Wellness

Get well, stay well. Living healthy is a way of life. The YMCA has the programs that will show you how to live a healthy life, and the staff who will help keep you motivated to live it. There are many programs, events and activities designed around Health and Wellness. Below are some of our current options. Check our Events page for special programs offered throughout the year …




  • Yoga

    Yoga classes are designed to reduce stress, improve circulation, balance, coordination and flexibility. Enhances mental focus and clarity.
     

  • Adult/Teen Kung Fu

    Improve flexibility, strength and cardiovascular conditioning.



  • Aerobic Pass

    Good for unlimited classes in a session, for non-members who just want to take group classes and nothing else. Some classes require registration. 

  • Yang Family Style Tai Chi


    A specific style of Tai Chi which incorporates 37 postures from the Cheng Man Ching Family.

  • Mixed Martial Arts


    A conditioning class that combines various forms of martial arts including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, kickboxing, karate, wrestling and boxing.  This program is for adult members 18years of age and older.

  • Enhance Fitness for Beginning Exercisers


    The Enhance Fitness Program is a series of specially designed and tested exercises specifically for beginining exercisers.  The program consists of one-hour classes meeting three times a weekand is designed to foster support and develop relationships, while focusing on strength training, stretching, low impact aerobics and balance.  It is designed to be safe for physically unfit adults, yet challenging enough for the more active participant.  The program is geared to those who have not participated in an organized exercise program before.

  • Starting Over for Breast Cancer Survivors

    An exercise program designed for those who have or have had breast cancer.  You will learn flexibility and stregthening exercises for parts of the body affected by your cancer treatment.  Cardiovascular exercises will improve your endurance and special relaxation techniques will enhance your feeling of well-being and renewal. Led by a Certified YMCA exercise instructor.

  • Living Strong/Living Well Fitness Program for Cancer Patients and Survivors


    This is a twelve week exercise program for adult cancer survivors (men and women) who have recently become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from thier disease and/or treatment, developed by Stanford University.  The program will meet twice a week and consist of strength training and cardio conditioning with a relaxation/stretching segment at the end of each class.  Pre registration is required and space is limited.

  • Personal Training


    One-on-one training with a certified personal trainer.  Set goals and achieve them. Gift certificates available.

  • Small Group Personal Training


    Bring your friends togather for some one-on-one training with a certified personal trainer.  A minimum of three is required and a maximum of five are permitted for this program.

  • Fitness Evaluation


    Comprehensive fitness testing done by our certified fitness specialist.  Body composition, cardio-respiratory endurance, strength and flexibility are assessed.  Includes a personal exercise prescription.

  • Nutritional Counseling

    Meet with a registered dietitian to set up a personalized nutrition program that addresses your own goals.

  • Massage Therapy

    No longer just an indulgence.  Massage therapy is a medically based service.  This therapy can provide relief from chronic pain, sports injury as well as relaxation. Select tradtional massage or a chair massage.

  • A.I.M. (Adolecents In Motion)

    A program designed specifically for kids 11-14 years of age.  Participants learn wellness center etiquette and how to use the cardiovascular equipment and the Nautilus strength equipment.  Successful completion of the program and test permits adolescents to use the wellness center unaccompanied by an adult.

  • CLUB A.I.M


    Work out in the supportive enviroment of your peers. Take it to the next level-learn about workout programs and nutrition.  Successful completion of A.I.M is required.
